Of very paramount importance to us at Priceless Virtues International is to expose Girls to adequate information that will help them set the course of their lives on a certain different pedestal and help them compete from a more advantaged position irrespective of the background they are coming from. We are excited to always teach and interact with the Girls and impact them with values that will make a better person, first for their own benefits and for societal impacts.

One of such strategy at the organization is the 6 weeks Boot Camp that accommodates 30 Girls to be trained in a quarter with the goal of teaching Girls life building skills. The boot camp comprises teaching on Education and Career, Financial Education, Self-Esteem, Emotional Intelligence, Vocational Orientation and Examining the lessons in the movie; Queen of Katwe.

The first week, focused on Education and Career Development with a very rich and in-depth outline. This course, explained the meaning of a career, factors to consider before choosing a career, distractions on the girl-child path and how to shun those distractions, unconventional career path in the 21st century, understanding your personality as regards your career and hazards on a career path. At the end of the teaching, the Girls were assigned to a group focusing on specific areas of what they have been taught. Each group later chooses a speaker who helped the whole class gained an insight into what was discussed in the various groups.

The second week focused on financial education. The aim of this course is to create awareness about money, help the girls be independent with money, help them cultivate the habit of saving with a target/goal in mind, and above all, to prevent these Girls from becoming modern beggars otherwise called, ‘urgent 2k girls’. At the end of the training, the Girls were given an individual project. The project is a 4-month long #KoloChallenge (piggy bank challenge). They all wrote their savings target and signed accordingly.

The third week focused on Emotional Intelligence. This course was explicit and practical. The girls were allowed to express freely how they would react if someone gets them angry and they were taught practical ways on how to handle offences, how to express their hurt and displeasure, how to master their emotions and seeking to act from the right perspective always.

The fourth week focused on Self Esteem. The girls learnt that their life is not a summation of what they have, they learnt to be bold to give the answer to that question for which a price is to be won, they learnt to bring their innovation to the table regardless of the fact that they bring their books to school in a polythene bag and others who have a school bag will laugh at them. Through this course, we were able to establish that we can prevent a lot of future mess through adequate knowledge of who the girls are, how desperate the world need the Girls and how important it is for the Girls to be prepared.

The fifth week focused on Vocational orientation and the Girls learnt the basics of Ankara craft. They made beautiful designs of Ankara craft on their slippers and as a bow for their hair.
